FRA was established in 1984 by the late Vernon Futerman – a remarkable man with a remarkable life story, whose memory we are proud to keep alive in the firm’s name.
We have a varied and loyal list of clients. Over the years our non-fiction writers have included senior politicians – past and present – high court judges, QCs, barristers, an erstwhile Public Enemy No. 1 (now happily reformed and working with the police) and a scattering of well-known faces from stage and screen. We are particularly known for biographies and memoirs from show business and the music profession.
FRA’s reputation for fiction – humorous or straight – is steadily growing. We have a strong track record too for placing film/TV rights to our authors’ works with major studios and producers, in some cases even ahead of the book rights.
In addition to a full spectrum of screenwriters and television dramatists, we represent London, Hollywood and Canadian film producers, including a former Warner Bros. President.
GUY ROSE, agency principal, studied English with the late, great novelist Tom Sharpe and co-wrote his obituary in The Times.
