Paul Marsden was Labour Member of Parliament for Shrewsbury and Atcham. A member of the Labour Party from 1983 to 2001, he became a member of the Liberal Democrats and a Shadow Minister for Health from 2001 to 2005 then he returned to his former party.

As someone who has crossed the floor not once but twice (and the first since Churchill), Paul brings the emotional roller-coaster journey to life in his new book and considers the emotional effects on the individuals, those they leave behind and those they join.

Paul has written a book about an eclectic mix of those MPs who have crossed the floor in the past such as Gladstone, Chamberlain, Churchill, Oswald Mosley, the Gang of Four and less known characters together with an insight into their motivations and emotions. It is an authoritative story based on research from the national archives and parliamentary records.
